Selemani Kinyunyu is a Strategic Adviser with Maendeleo Group. He currently works as the African Governance Architecture (AGA) Focal Point at the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights where he is responsible for driving the Court’s engagement in policy processes in the areas of human rights, good governance, rule of law and Transitional Justice in Africa.
He has worked for the East Africa Law Society (EALS) and Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU) and has consulted on legal, human rights and rule of law assignments for the African Union (AU), East African Community (EAC), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and German Organisation for International Cooperation (GiZ) among others.
Selemani’s research interests include international justice, regional integration and the role of African Organizations in an increasingly multipolar world.
Selemani is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Tumaini University and a Master of Laws Degree in Transnational Criminal Justice from the South African-German Centre for Criminal Justice and Development Research at the University of the Western Cape. He is also completing a Doctorate in International Anti-Corruption Law.
